Ekiga SIP Setup and Softphone Configuration Guide
Ekiga (formely known as GnomeMeeting) is an open source SoftPhone, Video Conferencing and Instant Messenger application over the Internet for Linux.
You can download the latest version of Ekiga softphone and install to your PC following the instructions here.
Follow the steps below to configure your VoIP account.
1.) Click Edit / Accounts link..
2.) Select "Add a SIP Account " option enter VoIPVoIP and click "OK"
3.) Enter your VoIPVoIP account settings as follows:
- Name: VoIPVoIP
- Registrar: sip3.voipvoip.com ( VoIP VoIP softphone server information)
- User : Your 10 digit VoIP VoIP account starting with 555 (e.g. 5551231234 )
- Authentication User : Your 10 digit VoIP VoIP account starting with 555 (e.g. 5551231234 )
- Password : ( same password used to login to your VoIPVoIP account )
- Timeout : 3600
Please fill your information accordingly and click "Enable Account" and than "OK" buton.
4.) Once you see your account status as "Registered" you are ready to make calls.
For international calls, dial 011 followed by the country code and number, then press the green button. For domestic U.S. calls, just dial 1 + the area code and number then the green button.
