How Does it Work?

Here’s an example of how it works:

Imagine you live in London, and your relative lives in New York, USA, with a phone number that has the area code +1 646. You can get a US virtual phone number with the same area code and receive calls over the internet. This way, when your relative dials this US number to reach you in London, they won't incur long-distance charges.

To make and receive calls, you can use any device or software that supports the SIP protocol.

US Phone Number With Voicemail or Call Forwarding

If you don’t have an internet connection, VoIP device, or software, you can still use a US virtual phone number and forward it to your mobile or landline. The call forwarding charges will be equivalent to the standard rates for calls to that destination. For example, if you forward your US phone number to a London landline, the rate would be $0.009 per minute (with a pay-as-you-go plan).
